Hello,
I am Abdulla Rashid Al Jaberi , I am 23 years old. I am Emirate and I was born in Al Ain. I have been in Al Ain for 15 years then I travelled to Abu Dhabi in 1998. Currently I live in Shahama town which is 40 km far away from Abu Dhabi city.
I am a student at Abu Dhabi Man's College of Technology. I joined college in 2008 and I am happy to study here because it provides a good environment for studding and gaining a lot of skills. I am at level two and my major is mechanical engineer. I hope that I will graduate in 2011 and also I hope that I will work with one company of ADNCO company groups.
My best hobbies are playing football, watching moves and playing tennis table. Yes one thing to say that I support Al Ain team.
This BLOG was created to examine problem of global warming. I hope that we can solve and reduce the consequences of this issue. I will be glad to hear your comment.

Lebanon
Lebanon is an important radical country of the history over world. In the bible, it was call
ed the land of the milk and honey. The capital of Lebanon is Beirut and it has a nickname which is Paris of the East. Lebanon is mixture of many different religions but the two main religions are Muslim and Christian. In addition, it has three official languages Arabic, English and French. Therefore, it is mixture of different culture. It is surrounding by five countries which are Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Cyprus and Israel. This report will describe the modern history of Lebanon and Lebanon now.
The modern history began in 1943 when Lebanon gained the freedom from French. At this period, Christians and Muslims were fighting to hold the power of country. However, the Christians were more than Muslims so they detained the power of balance. Therefore, the tension increased between them. In 1948 and after Arab-Israel war about 100,000 Palestine and influx of Muslim refugee to Lebanon. The tensions reach the peak in 1975 when Christian group attacked
and killed a bus full of Palestine. Therefore, the violence began and the circumstances were dangerous and out of control. As a result of these tensions, the trust was a complete breakdown between the flowers of two religions. In 1982, Israel army attacked Beirut to eliminate the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO). After that, a peace deal sign between Muslim and Christian in 1989 to stop continued unrest. The human and economic were cost many thing of the conflict such as 150,000-200,000 people were died, 300,000 were wounded and most of population left the country.
Lebanon now improves in many signs of social and economic such as constructions, tourisms are coming, Muslims and Christians are mixing and doing business together. However, some of current problems are still appear in the country for example unemployment, concentration of wealth and high cost.

Task 2 Introdaction of Global Warming
Global warming is rising the average global temperature by trapping much solar energy in the atmosphere. However, it does not mean that everywhere in the world is warming. Why is the Earth getting hotter?
Unfortu
nately, there are many causes that lead to increase in the average temperature. For example, the number of industrial countries is increasing. Therefore, the volume of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is increasing and the important cause is methane that is released by farm animals. The other cause is the transport such as cars, trains and buses.
Nowadays the global warming seems to be the responsible for everything because it affects in many areas. The major cause of global warming is greenhouse effect which means
the sun rays are kept in the earth’s atmosphere and the earth heats up. Another result of global warming is in water distribution. For example, the ice in the north and the south of planet are melting because of increasing temperature. The other consequence is the level of the oceans is raising which effect on people who live in low lying areas in the world. In fact, some countries became colder than before and the weather will change day to day. The other effect is increasing in the areas of desert and other areas become hotter.
This is a serious issue that should be addressed because in future there could not be much space to live.

Inconvenient Truth Summary

First of all, he mentioned that the glaciers in around the world are melting quickly than before and disappearing. Although, 40% of people on Earth get their drinking water from natural springs and melting water. Therefore, the people in the world will suffer because of lack of water. He compared between the two graphs of temperature in the northern hemisphere and CO2 concentration. In addition, he mentioned that if the temperature rises the CO2 will rise too. In instance, the sea level would increase because of melting of the glaciers around the word. Therefore, he mentioned some disasters of tornado that happens because of the rising of the sea level such as Katrina. Also, he talked about some diseases that result from global warming such as Malaria. He stated three factors of the collision between our civilization and the earth which are population, technology and oil. He also mentioned some of solution to reduce the effect of global warming like using more efficient motor and carbon capture which can abuse the carbon from the air.
Finally, he recommended to take the global warming as a real problem and should take action for it.

Project Task 4 " An Inconvenient Truth"
An Inconvenient truth is a movie which discuses the issue of global warming. Mr. Al Gore explained the m
ain problem of global warming and he sent a message to whole nation to increase the awareness of the people around the world. However, some people agree with the Al Gore’s movie and the others disagree. This essay will discuss two different reviews about the movie the
positive review and the negative review and my opinion.

positive review and the negative review and my opinion.
A.O Scott who is a writer for the NY Times disagrees with Al Gore’s movie. He said that the movie is not only about the climate change but it is also about Mr. Gore. He thinks that the movie made to present Al Gore as humor speaker. He mentioned that Al Gore tried to make the presentation funny instead of discussing the climate change seriously (Scott, 2006). In order to that, he thinks that the people will not take al gore’s movie seriously. He commentated on the images and visual aids. He said images are stark and the visual aids are a little old.
Roger Ebert is one of the people who have a positive review about the movie. The global warming is true and people activity is the main cause of it (Ebert, 2006). He suggests that governments should take action immediately to reduce the effect of global warming and before the planet reach a tipping point. He said that all the information which mentioned in the movie are scientific such as receding ice and rise the temperatures.
In my opinion, the movie was interesting because it discussed a real issue in humorous way which attracts people to understand. I think that it helped people to learn more about global warming and what had happen due to it. The movie increased the awareness and the people will begin to think how to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions. Ultimately, I strongly agree with Elbert’s review and with Al Gore movie

Carbon Footprints
As we know, the carbon dioxide emission is one of the main causes of global warming. The way to measure it and the impact of our activity is by carbon footprint. The carbon footprint
is the amount of greenhouse gases produced due to our daily activity such as driving cars and cooking food, it can be measure by individual and earth equivalent (http://www.wikipedia.com/).
The carbon footprint can be measure by using some websites such as http://footprint.wwf.org.uk. This websites include a lot of question about food, travel, home and stuff. For example, there were some questions about the distance that I traveled daily. Also, it asked me about my home such as how many adults are we and the type of my house. After I answered all questions I got my result of my carbon footprint.
I have tested a
nd my result was 2.03 planets. It was very low compared to my friends because I don't drive for long distance and I live in small family. For example, my friend Abdulla Ismail got 3.80 planets because he travels by air plane annually to his family. I think that industries, transports and construction emit the high amount of carbon dioxide.
The Gulf region emitted high amount of carbon footprint compared to world. The UAE ranked the second and after Qatar. In the UAE, 32 tones of CO2 are produced per person in the year. It is very high amount compared to other countries such as Chain which produce only 3.7 tones of CO2 per person annually (Bleja, 2009).
I think that our country have a high amount of carbon footprint because of individual travelling. For example, most people in the UAE don't use the public transportation and they use their own car. We have to reduce the carbon footprint by recycling glasses, cans and paper. Also, we have to decrease the using of fossil fuel by using public transportation and using small engine car.

Cool City
The cool city's video explains the feature of modern city which can beat the heat. Sinc
e the start of the industrial revolution, many problems have been appeared with economic development such as increasing in the amount of carbon dioxide and increasing in energy consumption. These problems should be solved or we have to find another area to live which is not possible. We have to work hardly and take action to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide emitted into the air to live inside the capacity of the earth by 1.5 an atmosphere.
During the last thirty years in Japan the Gross Domestic Product has raised up 100% while energy efficiency has increased 37% and oil consumption has decreased 8% (Cool City). The 90% of carbon diox
ide emitted into the air are coming from building and transportation. Therefore, new project are building which is cool city to reduce amount of pollution. Cool city is planed idea city of technology with special energy saving features which can beat the heat (Hope, 2008). The idea and knowledge of cool city are gathering from the expertise of Sustainable Development Consortium of Japan and they will design it. There are three types of transportation that will be used in Cool City such as monorail, light rail transit and hybrid car. There are various zones in the city which are business centre, residential trail and culture. The city will follow some techniques to reduce the heat by provide abundance of trees, water and recycled cool air. The two types of buildings are expected to reduce about 30% of CO2 emission.
Overall, as shown in the video the total amount of CO2 will drop down by 60%. In my opinion, the city will be able to solve many problems that related to environment issue such as global warming

Task 7- Project Report
Everyone agrees that our planet is getting warmer. As a result, global warming is becoming a serious problem that forms a risk to our earth. Many scientists think that the making of
CO2 and greenhouse gases is warming the atmosphere, and this could be very dangers for human life. Therefore, the action should be taken to stop or reduce the harmful of this issue otherwise; our planet and our life will be in trouble. This report will examine the causes, problems of the global warming and will recommend some solution for it.
There are several stuff could cause the global warming. The emission of greenhouse gases like CO2, methane and nitrous oxide is the major cause of global warming. The power plant is the main sour
ce of carbon dioxide which emits large amounts of carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide produces from burring of coals, fossil fuels and most of industries. Although 20 % of CO2 comes from vehicles such as cars and trucks, the construction of building causes more pollution than vehicles (Ayres, 2001). Methane is the second major cause of heating up the atmosphere. It’s an important factor of greenhouse gases. In addition, methane warms the earth 20 times as much as the carbon dioxide traps heat in atmosphere. The third main cause of global warming is nitrous oxide. The hazards of this come from the using of fertilizers in agriculture and burning of organic compound. Others causes such as industries revaluation and human activities that lead to warm the planet.
There are a lot of problems that result from global warming. The rising in the sea level is one of major problems of this phenomenon (Lerner and Wilmoth, 2008). This could effe
ct on the low coastal areas and could cause flooding in these areas. Another problem is that changing in the climate. The climate is changed which effect on North and South Pole. In additions, many countries over the world are suffering from hurricanes and other natural disasters. Furthermore, there is some diseases appear such as malaria. Also, there is a negative effect on the animals because the melting glaciers could effect in the animal life such as a polar bear and fishes.
Many solutions can be done to reduce and minimize the causes of the global warming. The solution is known which is reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere before it's too late. There is several ways to deal with these emissions. One idea is that stop dependency on fossil fuels and switching it by renewable energy such as winds and solar energy which can be substituted for the energy needs. Green areas can be possible solution because more trees can absorb more CO2 and produce O2. One of the most important solutions is to offset the CO2 emission (Solution to Global Warming). It can balance with the emission. As an example, if UAE emits a large amount of carbon dioxide, they can run an offset in Africa. In addition, the individual can work to reduce the impact of global warming. For example, using public transport instated of using own cars.
In my opinion, global warming is an international issue and human activities are the main factors of it. The new technology should be used to decrease the impacts of global warming. As we know, transportations are one of the biggest polluter, so government should look for alternative at least in public transport. Finally, both government and people must work together to reduce the greenhouse emission because in future the earth will be in danger.
